Frequently asked questions about dried mango
Is dried mango without sugar healthy?
Our mango is dried without added sugar and without sulphur – it remains pure fruit with natural sweetness, fibre and vitamins. As with all dried fruit: the fruit sugars are concentrated, so a portion of 30–40 g is a good guideline.
How many calories does dried mango have?
About 320 kcal per 100 g – a 30 g portion is around 95 kcal. That makes it the more honest snack compared to chocolate or gummy bears, entirely without additives.
How do I recognise good dried mango?
By the ingredient list: mango only. No sulphur (E220), no sugar, no oil. Our fruit ripens on the tree in Cambodia and is sun-dried – which is why it tastes intensely of fruit rather than just sweetness.
Dried mango without sugar – what matters
Most dried mangoes on the market are sugared and sulphured. Sugar makes them sticky-sweet, sulphur (E220) preserves the bright orange colour. Our mangoes need neither: they ripen on the tree in Cambodia and are gently dried – no added sugar, unsulphured, organic quality. That is why they are slightly darker than coloured produce and taste intensely of fruit rather than just sweetness.
How to recognise good dried mango
- Ingredient list: Does it just say "mango"? Then it's right. Sugar, glucose syrup or oil do not belong there.
- Colour: Natural mango is amber to brownish. Bright orange suggests sulphur.
- Texture: Soft and pliable, not glassy or sticky.
- Origin: Tree-ripened fruit tastes fuller than early-harvested produce.
How to enjoy it
Pure as a snack on the go, chopped into muesli or porridge, in a salad with goat's cheese – or as an insider tip: together with our cashews with black Kampot pepper. The subtle heat and the natural sweetness make a surprising combination.
Frequently asked questions about dried mango
How many calories does dried mango have?
Around 320 kcal per 100 g. A 30 g portion is about 95 kcal. Drying removes water, which concentrates the natural fruit sweetness – nothing is sugared here.
Is dried mango without sugar healthier?
It contains no added sugar, but does contain fibre and the fruit's nutrients. As with all dried fruit: it remains a concentrated food – a handful is a good portion.
What does "unsulphured" mean?
Without sulphur dioxide (E220), which is otherwise used to preserve colour. Some people are sensitive to it – our mango does without.
How do I store dried mango?
Cool, dry and well sealed. It stays soft and aromatic for at least 12 months.
