A place full of life, learning and hope
As part of our trip to Cambodia, we also visited the primary school of Khna Romeas Chhouk – a place we now feel closely connected to. Around 400 children learn here in twelve classrooms – with plenty of energy, curiosity and community spirit.

Some of the children whose parents work on our pepper farm attend this very school. That makes our commitment here particularly personal – for me it is a place that is part of our local network.
We felt this special atmosphere the moment we arrived: children in school uniforms came towards us, laughed, waved, asked questions. The headmaster and a teacher welcomed us warmly with a cool drink. As a sign of appreciation they placed traditionally woven scarves around our necks – a gesture that touched us.
Learning under simple conditions – but with great dedication
The school is simply equipped – the building has many years behind it. Not everything is ideal, but you can tell: people here work with what they have – and with great dedication. The teachers are committed, the children attentive and eager to learn.

Still, there are areas in urgent need of improvement: some rooms need a fresh coat of paint, many tables and chairs need repair or are missing altogether. The blackboards have also seen better days.
But: things are happening.
What we have already achieved together
Thanks to your support – through purchases in the shop and targeted donations – we have already taken first steps. With €1,000 in donations we had the façade and several classrooms repainted. Part of the furniture could be replaced. The changes are visible – and encouraging.
What impressed us most: the gratitude of the school community – and at the same time their will to keep going themselves. They do not wait for help to arrive – they work with what is possible.
Education is future – and community
The school is naturally part of village life. Some of the children who learn there come from our farm. All the more pleased I am that we could contribute here.

You can feel that the teachers look after the children with great dedication – even if not everything is perfect. Things are moving forward, step by step. And we hope to continue supporting in the future – together with the people there and with you.
Encounters like these are what give our work its true value for me. They remind me why I founded PeppCorn.
Warm regards
Yours
